Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support and expertise to the site engineers.
• Manage project-wide dimensional control for main contractor and trade contractor works.
• Interpret as-built surveys and installations prior to construction of follow-on activities.
• Act as a TWS and Deputy TWC (dependent on individual competency) as stipulated in Mace TW procedure.
• Review design information and liaise with designers or trade contractors to resolve queries.
• Manage trade contractors to ensure ITPs are complied with, and verification records are in place.
• Carry out inspections to verify the works.
• Develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Seek opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Take responsibility for site engineers’ activities.
• Contribute to the net zero carbon transition by proactively managing associated emissions and reductions during project delivery.

Requirements

• Technical qualifications to HNC/HND or equivalent GNVQ level.
• Experience managing outside and third-party activities and risk mitigation.
• Relevant experience in engineering disciplines, especially in construction and design projects across multiple disciplines.
• Knowledge of technical, safety, and performance standards related to asset protection.
• Understanding of CDM and health & safety legislation requirements.
• Knowledge of safety management and safe by-design principles.
• Understanding of independent assessment arrangements for work.
• Knowledge of quality assurance and risk assessment, including engineering competency audits.
• Specific experience in telecommunications (commercial and operational), mechanical & electrical, civil engineering, structural engineering, tunnelling methodologies, permanent way, signalling, and electrification & power systems.
