Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Remove litter and empty public litter bins across designated areas.
• Carry out street cleansing duties including weed and graffiti removal.
• Clean public spaces, toilets and car parks as required.
• Report maintenance issues or defects after inspections.
• Identify work needing specialist teams (grass, hedge, sweeping, tree work).
• Report environmental issues such as fly tipping and damaged street furniture.
• Complete basic paperwork and timesheets; drive between Exeter locations.
• Work safely at all times in line with health and safety procedures.

Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting on behalf of a well-established client in Exeter for

5 City Cleaners to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for motivated and reliable individuals who take pride in keeping communities clean, safe and welcoming.

No previous experience is required as

full training will be provided. We're looking for individuals with a positive attitude, a strong work ethic and a willingness to work outdoors in a varied and rewarding role, where you can make a positive difference.

Please note: A full, clean manual UK driving licence is essential for this position.

Working Hours

• Shift start times between 5:00am and 7:00am
• Shift finish times between 1:00pm and 6:00pm
• Working 3 to 5 days out of 7, depending on operational requirements
• Flexibility to work at least one weekend day is preferred
• 5-hour shifts include a 30-minute unpaid lunch break
• 5-hour shifts include 1.5 hours of breaks

Key Duties

• Removing litter and emptying public litter bins across designated areas.
• Carrying out street cleansing duties, including weed removal, fly-post removal and small-scale graffiti removal.
• Cleaning public spaces, public toilets and car parks as required.
• Undertaking basic inspections and reporting maintenance issues or defects.
• Identifying work that requires specialist teams, including grass cutting, hedge maintenance, mechanical sweeping, tree work and large-scale graffiti removal.
• Reporting environmental issues such as fly tipping, abandoned vehicles, damaged street furniture and signage.
• Completing basic paperwork, inspection records and timesheets.
• Driving between locations across Exeter to carry out duties.
• Working safely at all times in accordance with health and safety procedures.
