Hitachi Rail UK Limited in Newton Aycliffe is seeking a Networking & Infrastructure Engineer (6-Month Fixed Term) to join the UK Infrastructure team. You will apply Cisco ISE and NAC expertise to support a major project across UK sites, ensuring secure, reliable network services.

The role requires enterprise networking experience, strong security focus, and collaboration with internal teams and partners. The position is full-time on-site at Newton Aycliffe.

Qualifications

• Proven experience supporting enterprise networking in a multi-site organisation.
• Strong knowledge of IP networking, routing, switching, and security.
• Significant experience with Cisco networking technologies including switches and wireless LAN controllers.
• Strong experience with Cisco ISE (802.1X) and Network Access Control.
• Experience administering Fortigate firewalls.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain enterprise networking services across the organisation.
• Lead network infrastructure and security projects, focused on Cisco ISE/NAC.
• Support Cisco switching, wireless networks and WLCs.
• Administer Fortigate firewalls, VPNs and DMZ environments.
• Ensure security and compliance through patching and hardening activities.
