Job summary

Career Connect in Preston (HMP Kirkham) is seeking an enthusiastic Career Information Advice and Guidance (CIAG) Adviser to work with offenders in custody and help them prepare for work on release. The role focuses on engaging individuals in learning, training and employment opportunities to support a new life after release.

The position is permanent and full-time with a 35-hour week and flexitime. It offers training and aims to make a real difference in breaking the cycle of reoffending.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with offenders or other disadvantaged people.
• Able to connect with people to help them progress.
• Comfortable working with databases and maintain strong attention to detail.
• Capable of meeting individual targets in a contracted role.

Responsibilities

• Work with offenders in custody to help them prepare for work on release.
• Engage offenders in learning, training and employment opportunities.
• Support a smooth transition back to the community on release.
• Operate within the prison environment while adhering to contract quality and compliance.
