Job summary

Stewarts is recruiting Christmas Elves for its Winter Wonderland across Abbey, Broomhill and Christchurch. You will greet visitors, manage tickets, guide families, and introduce children to Father Christmas, helping them choose a gift and keep the grotto running safely.

No grotto experience is required as training is provided; you should bring warmth, patience and a festive spirit to delight children and their families during the holiday season.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with children is beneficial.
• Experience with or ability to engage with SEN children is an advantage.
• Training will be provided; personality and genuine desire matter most.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes visitors to the Winter Wonderland and sets a warm, festive tone.
• Checks and manages tickets and guides visitors through the grotto.
• Introduces children to Father Christmas and helps them select a gift.
• Keeps the grotto running smoothly and safely.
• Chats with parents and answers questions to enhance the visit.

Do you have what it takes to join our team of Christmas Elves?

At Stewarts, we like to plan ahead to make every season magical for our customers – and when Christmas comes around, we like to be very merry and very well prepared!

Our Winter Wonderland is returning to Stewarts Abbey, Stewarts Broomhill and Stewarts Christchurch this Christmas, and we’re looking for a team of enthusiastic, friendly and festive Christmas Elves to help make every child’s visit to see Father Christmas truly magical.

What will you be doing?

As a Christmas Elf, you’ll be part of the team creating a warm, welcoming and memorable experience for children and their families.

• Welcoming children and their families to our Winter Wonderland;
• Checking and administering tickets;
• Helping visitors navigate their way through the experience;
• Introducing children to Father Christmas and helping children select theirpresent;
• Keeping the grotto running smoothly and safely;
• Chatting with parents and answering questions;
• Helping children feel comfortable, excited and ready for their magical visit;
• Most importantly… spreading plenty of Christmas cheer!

This is a role where personality really matters. We’re looking for people who genuinely enjoy being around children, are confident speaking with parents and have the patience, warmth and enthusiasm needed to make every visit special.

You’ll need to be:

• Friendly, cheerful and approachable;
• Confident and comfortable speaking to both children and adults;
• Patient, calm and reassuring;
• Comfortable entertaining and engaging with children;
• Reliable and able to work as part of a busy team;
• Happy to get fully into the Christmas spirit – sparkles, silliness and all!

Previous experience working with children is essential, and experience supporting or working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) would be a real advantage.

You don’t need to have worked in a grotto before – we’ll provide the training you need. What matters most is that you have the right personality and a genuine desire to make Christmas magical for our visitors.

When and where?

Our Elves will be based at our Garden Centresfrom Saturday 21stNovember through to Christmas Eve.

Training, induction and grotto set-up will take place before the grotto opens.

Applicants must be 16 years or over.

Hourly pay rates:

16-17 years - £9.50

18-20 years - £11.20

21 years and over - £12.85
