Job description
Key Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Actively promote a positive and collaborative workplace culture that supports the Charity’s purpose of Making Life Better and i-care values to increase morale, productivity and performance.
  2. Provide day to day supervisions of the other staff
  3. Arrange cover for absences as required and complete rotas to ensure sufficient staffing;
  4. Supervision of staff to ensure acceptable standard of behaviour and discipline and the allocation of appropriate duties;
  5. Supervise and operate the Normal Operating Procedures and Emergency Action Plan and all other designated safety procedures as documented in the facility safety plans;
  6. Hold a relevant First Aid Qualification as required by High Life Highland and carry out training in First Aid, and apply where and when necessary;
  7. Be involved in the setting up and taking down of equipment;
  8. Deliver staff inductions and staff training where appropriate and required;
  9. Undertake administration and reception duties as required;
  10. Monitor the cleanliness of the facility, surroundings & equipment and carry out cleaning duties as required;
  11. The implementation, monitoring and reviewing of safe systems of work and policies within the facility (NOP, EAP, COSHH, Risk Assessments etc);
  12. Carry out regular maintenance checks of the building and maintain appropriate records;
  13. Carry out routine handling and ensure safe storage of all chemicals used at the facility;
  14. Check, monitor and record the level of stock of facility materials;
  15. Maintain a warm, friendly approach to customers and other staff, including a high standard of customer care and helpfulness and that facility and equipment are provided in accordance with the needs of different user groups and individuals;
  16. Carry out Health and Safety checks according to the procedures set out and to ensure that risks and defects are immediately brought to the attention of the Manager;
  17. Carry out regular maintenances inspections in relation to building, surrounding area, equipment and maintain appropriate records;
  18. Ensure that all written procedures are compiled with at all times;
  19. Assist in the organisation of activity programmes and provide teaching as required by the manager;
  20. Readiness to work altered hours, including evenings and weekends to meet the demands of the Service;
  21. Responsibility for the security of the building insuring opening and closing procedures are followed;
  22. Be a key holder and be able to respond to out of hours call outs;
  23. Wear the uniform and to ensure that all other staff comply;
  24. Compile and retain financial and statistical information as required;
  25. Handle and account for cash and the days takings where applicable;
  26. Discuss and implement with the Manager any improvements or developments to the facility and service to improve effectiveness and efficiency;
  27. Responsible for sorting out day to day problems in the absence of the Manager;
  28. Work with the Manager preparing special projects as required;
  29. Be able to work to tight deadlines on occasions;
  30. Set up, monitor, review and plan training for all staff to include keeping appropriate records;
  31. Supervise and monitor all staff within the building to ensure that they are complying with safe working practices;
  32. Assist with the management of other facilities including pitches, pavilions and halls.
  33. Pursue continuous professional development and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Leanaig Centre and High Life Highland as a whole.
  34. Attend and undertake any training online or in person.
  35. Aim to reduce wastage and uphold our environmental values of being as sustainable as possible in all tasks.
  36. Assist and support other areas of High Life Highland with particular projects, training or in the event of holidays or sickness working cross-functionally across the Leanaig Centre team.
  37. Undertake all tasks in accordance with High Life Highland policies and procedures, including General Data Protection Regulations, health and safety procedures, relevant checks, reporting any concerns to management to ensure corrective action is taken.
