Get Staff is seeking a Chiller Engineer (Field Based) to cover South East England, including Canterbury, Chatham, Dartford, London, Maidstone, Medway, Rochester, Sevenoaks and Tunbridge Wells. The role is permanent with a starting salary of £47,000 plus overtime and field-based duties.
You will install, repair and maintain temporary chiller units on customer sites, support boiler installations in winter, and contribute to safety, cost control and customer satisfaction while keeping stores
Our client is an established name in temporary plant hire, providing heating and cooling solutions to commercial and industrial customers across the UK. They are looking for an experienced Chiller Engineer to join their service team, installing, repairing and maintaining temporary chiller units to a consistently high standard.
This is a hands-on, varied field role covering the installation of chillers in line with RAMs, repairs on customer sites, and response to service breakdowns. You'll also assist with boiler installations over the winter season and install AC units, problem-solving on site as kit settings, customer demands and site restrictions require. Between field jobs you'll be based at the depot, keeping stores and van stock ordered so vital parts are always to hand and waiting time is kept to a minimum. There's real scope to shape the role too — helping develop new products for customer and industry needs, and driving operational improvements around cost and customer satisfaction. Safety is central to everything: you'll be expected to lead from the front and keep compliance front of mind across all systems and processes.
You’ll ideally have at least 3 years' experience on commercial chillers and hold an F-Gas qualification, alongside a full UK driving licence and a CSCS card. Strong communication and organisational skills are essential, as is a tidy, methodical work ethic and the confidence to work under your own initiative. You'll keep your admin on top of things, stay IT literate, and bring up-to-date knowledge of health and safety regulations. Just as importantly, you'll be flexible, approachable, a strong team player across the wider service team, and committed to seeing jobs through to completion, representing the company professionally at every turn. Previous experience in the HVAC hire industry, an electrical qualification, or MOD clearance and site experience would all be an advantage, though not essential.
