Job summary

Cambian Group is seeking a dedicated Children’s Residential Care Worker to join their team in England. The role focuses on creating a stable, welcoming environment where young people are central to daily care and development.

You will engage with children aged 8–18, promote independence, and ensure safety and adherence to protocols. Training, progression, and pension benefits are provided.

Qualifications

  • Full UK driving licence is mandatory.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare is desirable.
  • Experience in therapeutic or education engagement is preferred.

As the new Residential Care Worker, you will be emotionally strong and driven to make a difference day to day. Most importantly, you will get to really understand our children and their backgrounds, making sure that their needs are at the centre of everything we do. You will be approachable and detail focused, ensuring that our children’s safety is assured at all times, and that all protocols and regulations are fully adhered to.

Do you have what it takes to encourage and help our children to live independently and guide and teach them with your own life experiences? To do this we believe you will need empathy, compassion, resilience and positive parenting skills.

The working day can be very unpredictable and you could find yourself spending the entire morning Organising activities and the afternoon providing 1:1 support.

As a Children’s Residential Care Worker, you will be involved in all aspects of their everyday lives and the positive impact you will have is immeasurable.

Of-course - no day is the same here at the Cambian Group, however here is what a day in the life of one of our Children Residential Care Workers could look like:

The young people in our care range between the ages of 8-18 years of age and have a range of behavioural and emotional needs.

Duties:
  • Delivering the highest quality care for our children
  • Offering guidance, support and structure to their everyday lives
  • Supporting the young people to engage and access education
  • Promoting a healthy life style and positive living choices
  • Accessing clinically led training to improve your skills and develop practise
  • Household duties
  • Record keeping and report writing
  • Days out (e.g. social events, shopping, cinema, swimming)
  • Contacts, visit, key work meeting and therapy sessions
  • Providing transport for the young people to access different provisions
Requirements:

MUST hold a Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable but not essential to hold:
  • NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare
  • Previous experience working in a therapeutic environment or therapeutic qualifications
  • Experience supporting and leading educational engagement
  • Previous leadership skills and qualifications.
  • Higher level training and qualifications.
