  • Support with daily living tasks such as cooking and laundry.

  • Administer medication as per care plans.
  • Maintain accurate records and communication.
  • Transport young people to various appointments.

Job description

Location : Bury, BL9

Pay Rate : £13.50 – £14.00 per hour

Sleep-in Allowance : £60 per sleep

Hours : 160 hours per month (rota based)

Annual Leave : 224 hours

About the Role

We are seeking experienced Residential Support Workers to join our team in children’s residential homes. You will provide high-quality care and support to young people with complex needs, helping them develop independence and achieve positive outcomes.

This role is ONLY for fully qualified candidates who can work flexibly and confidently in a challenging yet rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide safe, nurturing, and therapeutic care for children and young people
  • Support with daily living tasks (cooking, shopping, laundry, independence skills)
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Administer medication in line with care plans
  • Maintain accurate records and clear communicationLiaise with families, professionals, and external agencies
  • Encourage participation in decision-making and education
  • Transport young people to school, appointments, and family contact
  • Uphold safeguarding, equality, and confidentiality standards
Working Pattern
  • Rota-based : days, evenings, weekends, sleep-ins, and bank holidays
  • Flexibility required for short-notice changes
Essential Requirements
  • Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Children and Young People in Residential Care
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Experience in a children’s residential setting
  • Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and record-keeping skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and professional standards
