Job summary

A children's care organization in Romford is looking for a passionate and experienced Registered Manager to oversee a new residential home. You will lead a dedicated team, ensure high-quality care for children aged 10–17, and ensure compliance with Ofsted standards. The ideal candidate holds a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare and has at least 2 years of senior experience in a residential setting.

Qualifications

We’re opening a brand new residential children’s home in Romford, East London, and we’re looking for a passionate, experienced and motivated Registered Manager to take the lead

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role based in Romford for a Children's Home Residential Manager. The Residential Manager will oversee the daily operations of the home, ensuring a safe, supportive, and structured environment for children and young people.

As the Registered Manager, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring it operates in line with Ofsted regulations and provides high-quality care for young people aged 10–17.

You’ll:

✨ Lead, inspire and develop a dedicated staff team

🧩 Ensure the home meets and exceeds Ofsted’s Good/Outstanding standards

📋 Manage budgets, policies and compliance effectively

🤝 Work closely with local authorities, families and other professionals

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Holds (or is working towards) Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England)
  • Has at least 2 years’ experience in a senior role within a children’s residential setting
  • Has a minimum of 3 years’ experience working with children and young people
  • Understands Ofsted regulations and safeguarding requirements
  • Has great leadership, communication and organisational skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven experience in people management, including team leadership and staff development
  • Knowledge of residential real estate processes and facility management
  • Proficiency in budgeting and financial management
  • Experience in delivering or coordinating training programs
  • Familiarity with childcare regulations and safeguarding practices
  • Ability to work collaboratively with external agencies and stakeholders
  • Relevant qualifications in social care, childcare, or management are highly desirable
