About the home:

This will be a dual home, purchased by a children's residential company and upgraded to the highest standard to create a safe, nurturing environment for the young people who live there. The home will specialise in supporting children with complex needs within a therapeutic setting. It will begin with single occupancy and gradually grow to support around four children across the two homes. You'll be joining a company that puts the needs of the children at the heart of everything they do, led by a team of managers who genuinely support one another through what can sometimes be a challenging but deeply rewarding journey.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a stellar team of support workers in a dynamic children's home.
  • Collaborate like a boss to provide top‑notch care looked after children.
  • Craft and roll out care plans, ensuring each child's safety and well‑being.
  • Be the maestro of staff rotas, keeping things running smooth 24/7.
  • Oversee the daily hustle and bustle of the care facility.
  • Maintain a vibe that's positive for both staff and the children.
  • Share your wisdom, guiding and mentoring support workers like the pro you are.
  • Team up with other pros and agencies when needed.
Qualifications needed:
Required
  • NVQ Level 3, 4 or 5 Residential Childcare Qualification (may except health and social care level 4 or 5 if you have a strong residential background and or management)
Preferred
  • To have a Level 5 Leadership and Management in Residential Care or Young People & Families Manage (or willing to work towards this qualification if you don't have one)
Requirements:
  • At least 3 years of solid experience in the last 5 working with children.
  • A background that screams, "I know my stuff!" - ideally, as a seasoned support worker or in a similar role.
  • A good understanding of working with children who are EBD, SBD, SEMH.
  • Experience working in a residential setting.
  • Boss‑level leadership skills to manage and inspire a top‑tier team.
  • A deep understanding of the care sector and a passion for top‑notch care standards.
  • Must have a strong knowledge base of child safeguarding legislation.
  • Flexibility to ride the shifts rollercoaster and manage those team rotas.
  • Bonus points for knowing your way around caring for special needs kiddos.
