Shift Hours: 8:00 PM – 8:30 AM

Are you a dedicated and compassionate individual with leadership experience in residential childcare? Do you thrive in creating safe, nurturing, and supportive environments for children and young people? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

We are seeking a Residential Childcare Team Leader to join our team in Wisbech. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth running of our night operations, providing high-quality care, and supporting a team of dedicated night staff.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and support the night team to provide a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for children and young people.
  • Ensure all night routines are followed in accordance with individual care plans.
  • Act as a role model, promoting positive behaviour and implementing boundaries consistently.
  • Monitor and respond to the needs of the children during the night, offering emotional and practical support as required.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and health and safety regulations.
  • Complete nightly handovers, documentation, and logs accurately.
  • Support the training and development of staff, ensuring high standards of care are maintained.
Qualifications
  • Applicants must be aged 21 or over (in compliance with OFSTED requirements).
  • Previous experience in residential childcare or a similar role.
  • A relevant Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is essential.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and support a team.
  • A calm and empathetic approach, particularly in challenging situations.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory standards.
  • A commitment to promoting the rights, welfare, and development of children and young people.
  • Flexibility to work night shifts (8 PM – 8:30 AM) on a rolling rota.
