Overview

Location: Swadlincote / Burton on Trent Area

Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable children affected by domestic violence? We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Children Support Worker to join a dedicated team providing vital emotional and practical support to children and young people impacted by domestic abuse.

About the Role

You will work directly with children and young people to help them recover, build resilience, and feel safe in the aftermath of domestic violence. Your support will focus on their emotional wellbeing, promoting positive coping strategies, and working closely with families and professionals to ensure the best outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver 1:1 support sessions with children affected by domestic violence, using trauma-informed approaches
  • Help children develop emotional resilience and coping skills
  • Maintain detailed and confidential case records
  • Promote safeguarding and child protection practices at all times
What We're Looking For
  • Level 3 Childcare qualification (essential)
  • Full driving licence and access to a car (essential)
  • Experience working with children and young people, ideally in a domestic violence or trauma-informed setting
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding vulnerable children
  • Current DBS certificate or willingness to undergo DBS checks
