Job summary

Crossgates Primary School is seeking a Children’s Welfare Officer with Attendance Champion responsibilities to lead welfare and attendance initiatives. You will join the School Leadership Team and Designated Safeguarding Team to safeguard pupils, support families, and promote consistent attendance.

Responsibilities

• Lead welfare, early help, attendance and safeguarding within the school.
• Engage with staff, pupils, families and external agencies to provide wrap‑around support.
• Represent Headteacher at safeguarding meetings, multi‑agency panels and court processes.
• Coordinate attendance initiatives and report regularly to Governing Board.
• Ensure timely and compassionate action in high‑volume, urgent cases.
