Overview

Elwood Recruitment are recruiting for Children’s Support Workers in Walsall.

About the role

We are currently recruiting dedicated and experienced Children’s Support Workers for a Walsall based complex needs residential service. You will provide support to children and young people age 5-18 years who have moderate to severe learning disabilities, behavioural challenges, ADHD and autism spectrum disorder.

You will work with the young people to promote daily living skills, assist and support to self‑regulate and develop independent living skills in line with a support plan which has been designed around the young person. As part of the care and support team you will assist in maintaining a safe and enabling environment that provides positive experiences to children living within the service.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting, mentoring and educating children with day‑to‑day activities to develop their emotional and social needs
  • Developing personal and practical skills to enhance independent living
  • Positive engagement to encourage children and young people in their development
  • Reporting and recording key aspects of care and developing your professional skills as part of on‑going development plan
  • Managing complex and behaviours that may challenge
  • Support and engagement with a range of activities
Qualifications
  • Essential Experience: Care & Support Work – 6 months in the UK
  • Essential Qualifications: QCF/NVQ Level 3 Children & Young People
