Job description
Children's Support Worker (Experience Required)

Contract: Agency/Flexible - often long days or wakes

Pay rate: £13 - £16.50 with additional holiday pay (Rate of pay dependant on experience/qualifications)

Location: Swansea and surrounding areas

Are you an experienced children's support worker looking for additional/ad hoc work around your permanent role or maybe full time but wanting flexible work? Then look no further!

Your role will aid in delivering support to children and young people through meeting their emotional, social, physical, and intellectual needs within their residential homes and in the community. These individuals will be provided with a personal plan that will enable you to support the young people to have positive experiences while still integrating their boundaries and routine. You will need to be prepared to work 1:1 with those you're supporting, however, often you will be supported on a 2:1 basis with other staff members.

You will be required to take part in daily activities with the young people, so a driver with access to their own vehicle is preferred but not essential. To aid with this, it is essential that you have attention to detail, great communication skills and are resilient. Ideally due to challenging behaviours, you will already have PBM training or equivalent; we offer free training with certificates to best support you within your role.

We're passionate about investing in you!

For this role it is essential you have at least 6 months UK based care experience working with children and hold a minimum of NVQ level 2 or equivalent.

Requirements:
  • 6 months UK based care experience in the last year OR a year in the last 5 years
  • Right to work in the UK (we do not offer sponsorship)
  • Willing to undergo DBS and reference checks
  • To be approachable, friendly, proactive and engage with the services users
  • Great communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
Benefits of joining us:
  • Weekly pay and paid PAYE (We do not use umbrella companies – meaning you accrue holiday pay and no hidden fees)
  • 24/7 contact with Brook Street Social Care
  • Pension scheme entitlement
  • Double pay on Bank HolidaysSeparate holiday pay (you have a whole year to use it)
  • Access to specialist support through our Mental Health First Aiders
  • Online timesheets and payslips
  • Opportunity to work in various settings and gain more experience
  • Free training and refreshers provided including Manual handling, Medication, PBM and more – no fee for certificates
