Job description

As a Support Worker you will provide help and guidance to the young people within the residential areas, school and out in the community. This can mean teaching life skills, organising and attending day trips and health care appointments, delivering personal care and administering medication.

You will be responsible for safeguarding the residents, and supporting them to achieve maximum levels of independence, have fun, and develop a lifelong love of learning.

We are seeking trustworthy, resilient social care professionals who are understanding of the young people’s needs and can create a fun and engaging environment for them to grow and thrive. Previous experience of learning disabilities and/or challenging behaviour is desirable, as well as a relevant Level 3 Diploma, although we will provide full training for the right candidate, who can demonstrate a sound value base and a deep desire to be a positive influence in the young people’s lives.

Bladon House School is a residential setting that specialises in supporting young people ages 5‑19 with autism, speech and language disorders, moderate to severe learning difficulties and associated behavioural difficulties. Our aim is to enable them to build self‑esteem, become an active part of the community, and achieve their best outcomes. We provide access to a wide range of facilities, including an onsite farm and adventurous activities such as rock climbing.
