Job summary

A care and support provider in Wolverhampton is looking for a dedicated Team Leader to manage and lead a staff team in providing care for children with complex needs. We are recruiting on behalf of our valued client, a West Midlands specialist provider of care and support for children and young people with mental health disorders, learning disabilities, complex needs, and emotional and behavioural difficulties EBD.

As a Team Leader, you will play a key role in shaping positive outcomes for the children and young people in looked after care, while leading and supporting a dedicated staff team and being the driver of excellence.

To apply, you must:

  • Have proven experience in residential children’s care
  • Hold an NVQ/QCF Level 3 Diploma specifically in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Be flexible, resilient, and passionate about making a difference and working towards company goals
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and act as a positive role model
  • Manage rotas and staffing levels to meet care requirements
  • Lead daily shift planning and handovers
  • Supervise and mentor your team in line with Care Regulations
  • Provide on-call support when required
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people
  • Ensure safeguarding is always a top priority
  • Support with care planning, record keeping, and administering medication where appropriate
  • Mentor and support residential children’s workers that you will oversee
