Coventry City Council invites applications for a part-time permanent Children’s Residential Night Care Worker in Coventry. The 22-hour weekly waking night shifts require empathy, resilience and a commitment to child-centred care in warm, family-style homes.

What is the job role?
There are 3 key areas of skill essential to this role:
Overnight carer– Support children with disabilities, complex health needs and potential trauma related behaviours to develop a sleep routine within a safe, secure and nurturing environment. Attending to personal care needs as required. Contributing to individual care planning ensuring all records are maintained appropriately.
Relationship builder– Provide ongoing support through positive relationships and promoting the development of meaningful interaction, guided by the values of; child - centred care, respect, dignity, good parenting, independence, fulfilment, and partnership, with the ability to recognise and implement different forms of communication that meet children’s needs.
Educator - Sharing information with children in an accessible way, empowering them to make informed choices about their care and future.
Please Note: This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
