Overview

We are looking to appoint 2 Support Workers for our residential children’s home in Gloucester. This is an exciting role for an experienced Support Worker to join a company that is growing and developing.

Responsibilities
  • To support the management of the home and take the lead on shifts.

  • To ensure that children and young people we support are treated with respect, dignity, and equality.
  • To safeguard and promote the welfare of the children and young people we support.
  • To lead on and create all young people’s placement plans and risk assessments and ensure that these are well written, updated regularly, and that the team understands and follows them.
  • To act as and/or oversee Key worker arrangements for named young people, to oversee the coordination of their plans, and to improve the quality of their life.
  • To act as the lead person for the overall coordination of support where required.
  • To ensure that health and safety checks and audits for the house and relevant H&S staff training are completed.
  • To promote equality of opportunity, a respect for diversity and anti-oppressive practice.
  • Be willing to participate in an on-call rota.

Working Patterns

We are currently looking to recruit 3 Full-time Team Leaders. Full-time hours are 37.5 hrs contracted (plus sleep-ins).

The primary role will be to work in the residential home on a rota basis. The home is based in Gloucester. The hours include:

  • 2 x 24 hr shifts 7:30am – 7:30am the following day (with 8 hr sleep in)
  • 3 x 24 hr shifts 7:30am – 7:30am the following day (with 8 hr sleep in)

These shifts will include evenings and weekends on a rota basis. Night shift allowance paid - £84 per night

Essentials
  • The candidate must have at least two years' previous experience of safeguarding and working with vulnerable children.
  • The candidate must have a full driving licence and be willing to provide proof of business insurance.
  • The candidate must have a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check. If the candidate does not have a portable one, this can be applied for, and any successful candidate must be willing to sign up to the DBS update service.
  • The candidate must be able to provide two satisfactory references.
  • The candidate must be willing to work overnights and weekends.
  • The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to promoting equality, be non-discriminatory and be willing to promote anti-oppressive practice.
  • The candidate must be willing to promote the independence and safety of children and young people that we work with.
  • Successful candidates will be required to complete a full application form.
