Children's Home Manager – Location: Wisbech – Salary: £55,000 per annum + £5,000 annual quality and commercial bonus – Full Time

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate Children's Home Manager to lead a high-quality residential service in Wisbech. The successful candidate will be an inspiring leader with the ability to combine empathy and professionalism, ensuring the home meets and exceeds regulatory standards while remaining a warm and supportive place to live and work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop Comprehensive Care Plans: Create and maintain individual care plans addressing each young person\'s educational, emotional, cultural, and health needs.
  • Build and Lead a Strong Team: Recruit, develop, and retain a team that shares your commitment to outstanding care and consistency for the young people.
  • Promote Young People\'s Voices: Establish systems to ensure young people are actively consulted and involved in decisions about their care.
  • Ensure Quality Standards: Maintain compliance with National Minimum Standards and the Home\'s Statement of Purpose, ensuring continuous improvement and excellence.
  • Safeguard and Support: Take responsibility for managing any complaints or safeguarding concerns, ensuring the highest standards of child protection.
  • Collaborate Effectively: Work in partnership with parents, carers, and external professionals to promote positive outcomes for each young person.
  • Manage Resources Responsibly: Oversee budgets, staffing, and operational performance to ensure sustainable and effective service delivery.
  • Champion a Positive Culture: Create an environment that prioritises wellbeing, safety, and empowerment for both young people and staff.
Essential Requirements
  • A genuine passion for improving the lives of children and young people in care.
  • Experience: At least 2 years\' experience in residential childcare, including 1 year in a supervisory or management role within the last 5 years.
  • Qualification: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or willingness to complete within 6 months of employment.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of The Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Skills: Confident in leadership, planning, resource management, and team development.
  • Understanding of Trauma: Experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties and knowledge of trauma-informed care.
  • Full UK Driving Licence required.
