Job summary
Worcestershire County Council invites applications for a dedicated Children’s Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to chair statutory reviews for children in care and ensure their voices are heard in care planning decisions.
The role involves monitoring care plans, providing expert guidance on regulations, and fostering collaboration with families and professionals while maintaining comprehensive records and supporting professional development.
Qualifications
- Recognised social work qualification (CQSW, DipSW or equivalent).
- Registered with Social Work England.
- Proven experience with children and families in a statutory environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with children and young people.
- Excellent organisational skills with ability to manage multiple cases.
Responsibilities
- Chair and facilitate statutory reviews for children in care.
- Monitor and evaluate care plans to reflect best interests of the child.
- Build strong relationships with children, families and professionals.
- Provide expert advice on statutory regulations and best practices.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of reviews and decisions.
