Job summary

Compass Community invites applications for a Deputy Manager in a children’s home, supporting the Registered Manager to deliver high-quality, child-centred care. You will supervise staff, lead shifts, and ensure that placement plans are followed while safeguarding and education are integrated into daily practice.

We seek a determined, caring professional with 2+ years’ residential childcare experience, NVQ Level 3 Diploma, and a valid manual driving licence.

Qualifications

• Must be 22+ years to meet Ofsted regulations.
• NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare is required.
• At least 2 years’ experience in Residential Childcare with young people.
• Valid manual driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and leadership for shifts; oversee rotas and staff meetings.
• Ensure placement plans are followed and care is child-centred and safeguarding is upheld.
• Support the Registered Manager in delivering high-quality, compliant care and welfare for each child.

Work in a children’s home that makes a positive, lasting difference to children’s lives. This Deputy Manager role is ideal for experienced Senior Residential Workers or existing Deputy Managers who are looking to further develop their leadership skills within residential childcare.

We are looking for a determined, caring and thoughtful professional to support the Registered Manager in delivering high-quality, child-centred care.

We Are Looking For Someone Who

• Is 22 years old or above (to meet Ofsted regulations).
• Has their NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare.
• Has at least 2 year’s experiences within Residential Childcare and working alongside young people.
• Has a valid manual driving licence.

What will I do as a Deputy Manager?

• Using life skills, you will have the opportunity to make a huge difference within a child’s life, create positive relationships with them, meeting their needs and always safeguarding them.
• Within this leadership role you will be responsible for: staff supervision, leading shifts, making rotas, leading staff meetings, ensuring that placement plans are followed and education is supported, and ensuring that policies, procedures and risk assessments are adhered to and updated.
• You will ensure the welfare and care of each child, and give guidance to and support the wider staff team.
