Job summary

Interim Children’s Commissioning Manager

Based in London | Inside IR35 I hybrid

Length : 3-6 months

The Interim Children’s Commissioning Manager will have a significant role in developing the CYP Commissioning Programme and building good working relationships and collaboration across the council, the NHS, voluntary sector and other relevant local partners, as well as commissioned service providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support a varied portfolio of commissioned services for children and families where you will lead on specific commissioning projects and activities, including; working on Early Help; Prevention & Edge of Care; Advocacy; Safeguarding; Carers; sufficient provision to meet the range of needs of our Looked After Children (including fostering places, residential care & other accommodation-based support)
  • Ensure specific provisions are contract managed robustly, working closely with operational colleagues & procurement colleagues on tenders
  • Analyse data and review and collate information to inform decisions using the best data, evidence and intelligence to underpin commissioning decision making, meaningfully evaluating our approaches and reviewing service outcomes and facilitating new ways of thinking & working to achieve agreed objectives
  • Work closely in partnership with children, young people, families, communities, health & third sector partners, Education, Procurement, and markets to shape excellent, high quality & safe services
Essentials
  • Extensive experience of commissioning and procuring services that are aimed at improving outcomes for children, young people & families
  • An ability to work collaboratively, creatively and effectively with all partners from a range of backgrounds, with direct experience of working in partnership with NHS, VCFS organisations and local communities
  • Strong skills in review, analysis, facilitation, and design / development, delivered in complex, dynamic environments, including taking an evidence-led approach to shaping the work
  • Good provider contract & performance management skills and experience of identifying, reporting & managing risks
