Job description

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Sports/Arts Coach to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating sports programmes tailored to participants of various ages and skill levels. This role offers an excellent opportunity to inspire individuals through sport, promote healthy lifestyles, and develop coaching skills within a supportive environment. The Sports Coach will play a vital role in fostering teamwork, discipline, and confidence among participants while ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.

We are based at Sidcup Leisure Centre for 6 days over the festive period: December 2nd, 3rd, 29th, 30th, 31st and Jan 2nd.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement engaging sports training sessions suited to different age groups and abilities
  • Provide clear instruction and demonstrate proper techniques to optimise performance and minimise injury risk
  • Motivate participants to achieve their personal best whilst maintaining a fun and inclusive atmosphere
  • Monitor participant progress and provide constructive feedback to support development
  • Organise competitions, tournaments, and special events to encourage participation and community engagement
  • Ensure all activities adhere to health and safety regulations, including risk assessments and equipment checks
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and programme outcomes
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop new programmes that promote physical activity and team spirit
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in sports coaching or teaching within a similar environment
  • Strong knowledge of sports techniques, rules, and safety protocols
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate diverse groups of participants
  • Organised with the ability to plan sessions effectively and adapt to varying needs
  • Enthusiastic attitude with a passion for promoting active lifestyles through sport
  • Relevant coaching qualifications or certifications are desirable but not essential; willingness to undertake training is expected
  • Ability to work flexible hours if required
