Are you a passionate and experienced leader in children's residential care? We are seeking a dedicated Children's Registered Manager to oversee and lead our residential service at Old Hall Road Children's Home. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with complex needs.

About the Role

As the Registered Manager, you will take responsibility for the delivery of high-quality residential care in line with the Children Act 1989, National Minimum Standards, and Ofsted requirements. You will manage a dedicated team of residential staff, ensuring effective supervision, training, and performance management. You will work closely with children, families, and multi‑agency partners to deliver positive outcomes and ensure a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the Registered Manager in line with Ofsted registration and National Minimum Standards.
  • Lead a residential team, providing supervision, direction, and development opportunities.
  • Manage high-risk and complex cases, ensuring effective risk assessments and safeguarding practices.
  • Oversee service delivery, staffing, and budgets, ensuring the home operates effectively 24/7.
  • Maintain compliance with statutory and regulatory frameworks and promote a culture of restorative practice.
  • Ensure children and young people have up‑to‑date care records and participate in their care planning.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with families, colleagues, and external agencies.
About You
  • Hold a final level Social Work or equivalent professional qualification (CQSW, CSS, DipSW, Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care) or ability to complete within an agreed timescale.
  • NVQ4 in Care Management (or willingness to undertake).
  • Substantial experience working with children and young people in residential care, including at least 1 year in a senior or management role.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, Children's Act, National Minimum Standards and Ofsted frameworks.
  • Proven experience in staff recruitment, supervision and performance management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and provide cover as needed.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance with children's barred list check.
  • Car user with ability to meet travel requirements of the role.
