A caring organisation is seeking a qualified therapist passionate about improving the lives of children and young people. This part-time position involves supporting the delivery of therapeutic services across West Sussex. Applicants must have a Level 4 counselling qualification and be registered with a recognized professional body. We are looking to appoint a qualified therapist who is passionate about making a difference to the lives of the children and young people they work with, to join our service providing play/arts-based therapy and counselling for children and young people affected by parental substance use.
Our drug and alcohol support services are delivered across West Sussex (base for this post therefore tbc). This role requires extensive travel across West Sussex.
Part Time Hours: 22.5 hours / 3 days per week.
Full Time Salary Range: £33,175.56 – £35,220.59 (broadly £33,175.56 – £35,220.59, pro‑rata for part‑time). For full‑time roles the hours are 37.5 per week.
You will have a counselling or psychotherapy qualification, minimum Level 4, from a recognised training provider. You will also be registered or accredited with BACP, or an equivalent professional body such as PTUK, UKCP or BAAT.
Your duties will include supporting the delivery of an effective and comprehensive therapeutic service to children; having regard for those who are most at risk and the needs and expectations of partners and stakeholders. Working in schools and colleges during term time and in community venues during school holidays, you will provide tailored interventions and support under the supervision of CGL’s 11‑point group clinical supervision system. You will also support the emotional wellbeing of under‑18s through a project that utilises shared locations and relationships with other providers, whilst maintaining safety and best safeguarding practices as outlined by CGL.
