Location: Blyth

Shift Pattern: 8am-8pm Day / 8pm - 8am Night / 8am -11pm + Sleep

About the role:

As a Children & Young People's Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young people within residential settings and the community. Working with at least 2:1 staffing ratio, you will be ensuring safety, stability, and quality care always.

You’ll be:
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with young people.
  • Supporting daily routines (from school runs and appointments to bedtimes and activities).
  • Encouraging independence and personal development.
  • Keeping accurate daily records (emotions, routines, activities, food diaries, and more).
  • Helping manage money responsibly and keeping receipts.
  • Identifying and reporting any safeguarding concerns.
  • Supporting with personal care and household tasks when needed.
  • Handling behaviour that challenges with patience, resilience, and confidence.
What we’re looking for:
  • A caring, professional, and non-judgemental attitude
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Emotional resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Good attention to detail when writing notes and reports
  • Experience in social care or similar roles (advantageous but not essential)
  • Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification (preferred)
  • A valid DBS (we can help you apply)
  • A driver’s licence is a bonus as locations vary
