Service Care Solutions is working alongside a dynamic local authority, based in Berkshire, which is seeking an experienced Child Care Lawyer to join one of their Child Care Court Teams within the Joint Legal Team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to vital child protection work in a supportive, specialist team environment.

Role: Childcare Lawyer
Umbrella Rate: £50 - £55ph
PAYE Inc Hol Rate: £44.06 - £48.41ph
Location: Berkshire (Hybrid - office base Reading)
Contract: Initial 3 months, with the possibility of extension

Key Responsibilities
  • Work as part of a dedicated team of child protection lawyers.
  • Manage a busy caseload of care proceedings, emergency protection orders, special guardianship, secure accommodation, deprivation of liberty and adoption.
  • Undertake advocacy, including contested hearings at court.
About You
  • A qualified solicitor, legal executive or barrister (in England and Wales with a current practising certificate) with 3+ years PQE in child protection law and proceedings.
  • The ability to handle complex childcare matters with confidence and clarity.
  • Advocacy experience, ideally including contested hearings.
