Job summary

Milton Keynes City Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join the MASH Assessment Pod on a full-time basis. You will manage assessments, triage safeguarding concerns, and contribute to multi‑agency strategy discussions, with a three-week rota including home visits and office-based triage.

Requirements include qualification as a Social Worker with SW England registration, experience in Childrens Services, strong safeguarding skills, and a valid UK driving licence for community

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
• Experience of working within Children's Services.
• Strong assessment and safeguarding skills.
• Experience managing Child in Need, Child Protection, and Section 47 work.
• Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced multi-agency environment.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for travel within the community.

Responsibilities

• Week 1: Assess up to four pre-arranged Single Assessments, conduct home visits and engage with children and families, complete assessments and recording.
• Week 2: Triage – respond to urgent safeguarding concerns, attend strategy discussions and multi-agency meetings, undertake family visits.
• Week 3: Follow-Up – progress cases, complete outstanding assessments, visit notes and meetings, focus on quality recording, handover at Initial Child in Need Meeting/Initial Child Protection Conference.
