Job summary

Service Care Solutions are recruiting a qualified Family Court Adviser (FCA) to join Cafcass in Blackburn, Lancashire on a 20-week contract. This role focuses on safeguarding, assessment and court work to support children's welfare in family court proceedings.

You will undertake comprehensive child and family assessments, prepare professional reports within statutory timescales, and work with Local Authorities and health services to safeguard children.

Qualifications

• Recognised social work degree or diploma.
• Current registration with Social Work England.
• Minimum 3 years post-qualifying experience with children and families.
• Experience in safeguarding, child protection and complex assessments.
• Excellent report writing and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Undertake comprehensive assessments of children and families in family court proceedings.
• Identify safeguarding concerns and risks of significant harm.
• Provide evidence-based recommendations to the Family Court.
• Complete court reports and safeguarding assessments within statutory timescales.
• Direct work with children and families to understand their wishes and experiences.
• Collaborate with Local Authorities, legal professionals and health services.
• Represent children's interests in court proceedings with a child-centred approach.
• Manage complex, sensitive cases including domestic abuse and safeguarding concerns.
• Attend court hearings and provide professional advice and recommendations.
• Maintain accurate case records and uphold professional standards.
