Are you passionate about helping children and families build safer, more stable lives?

We’re looking for a Child & Family Support Worker to join a team supporting children in care and families facing difficult circumstances.

This role focuses on helping children maintain safe contact with their families, supporting parents with practical guidance, and working alongside Social Workers to promote positive outcomes.

Location: Bolton area

Contract: Temporary (3–4 months)

Hours: 37 hours per week

Pay: £15.92 per hour

A short-term opportunity is available for a Child & Family Support Worker to join a safeguarding-focused team supporting children and families through care and protection processes.

Responsibilities
  • Supervising and supporting family time sessions between children and their relatives
  • Attending home visits with Social Workers
  • Providing direct support to children, including emotional and developmental guidance
  • Helping parents with routines, boundaries, and behaviour management
  • Offering budgeting advice and helping families access support services
  • Keeping accurate records and contributing to assessments and care plans
  • Escorting children and families when needed
  • Managing a caseload and maintaining clear documentation
Requirements
  • Relevant Level 3 qualification (e.g. NVQ3, BTEC, Early Years, Health & Social Care)
  • Experience working with children and families
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
  • References will be requested for successful candidates
