Love Finance is on a mission to revolutionise lending through smart, scalable technology. As one of the UK’s fastest-growing fintechs and the team behind Lovey—our new consumer credit platform—we're building the future of responsible finance.

We’re looking for a hands‑on Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our tech strategy, drive sprint‑based delivery, and own data integrity across our lending platforms. This is a high‑impact role, reporting to the board and shaping the direction of both our B2B and B2C tech products.

What You’ll Do:
  • Define and execute the technology roadmap for our SME and consumer lending platforms
  • Lead and mentor a cross‑functional team of 7+ developers
  • Architect and maintain scalable data pipelines and integrations
  • Oversee agile delivery cycles with clear outcomes and accountabilityEnsure platform compliance with FCA, CCA, and data protection regulations
  • Manage third‑party tech partnerships (e.g., Simform, NexGen)
  • Consolidate ownership of Lovey’s full technology ecosystem
  • Lead architectural design for data flow, resilience, and automation across lending systems
  • Oversee sprint governance, partner performance, and system uptime
  • Implement robust data and cyber risk frameworks aligned with FCA expectations
  • Represent technology and innovation strategy to investors and the Board
Technology Background of the CTO:
  • Languages: Python, TypeScript / JavaScript (Node.js), Dart (Flutter), SQL / MySQL, JSON, REST, GraphQL
  • Cloud and Data: Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Cloud Run, Firestore, Pub/Sub)
  • DevOps and Tooling: GitHub, GitHub Actions, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Monitoring: Stackdriver, Grafana, Prometheus
  • Security: OAuth2, SSO, IAM, ISO27001 alignment, penetration testing
  • Analytics and Integrations: ThoughtSpot, Provenir, LTi, HubSpot, Creditsafe, Experian, Wiserfunding, Hometrack, Infosys or TCS BaNCS
The Essential Skills of the CTO:
  • CTO with a proven track record leading technology strategy and delivery in a regulated fintech, lender, or bank
  • Must have led teams under FCA or equivalent oversight
  • Knowledge of Consumer Credit Act, FCA frameworks, operational resilience, and data protection
  • A Leadership style that is accountable, delivery‑driven, collaborative, bringing more than just an advisory capacity
  • Operated in disciplined sprint environments, delivering measurable milestones
  • Deep technical credibility, able to architect, query, and debug data
  • Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure (GCP) and forensic data engineering
  • Strong communicator who can translate tech strategy into board‑level insight
The Desirable Skills of the CTO:
  • Experience working towards a banking licence or launching consumer credit products
  • Familiarity with AI/ML, Open Banking, and embedded finance
  • SMF24 Certified
