Chief Sales & Marketing Officer

up to £200,000 Base + Bonus (Double OTE i.e. £400K) + Benefits, West London (with Hybrid working), Amazing growth company with extremely strong business model.

Overview

Over the last 5 years this company has gone from strength to strength and is now considered to be one of the leaders in their market vertical. Due to continued business growth the board has decided that the business now needs to recruit its first Chief Sales & Marketing Officer, so this is a brand‑new position within the group.

Whilst the company has grown extremely well in the last few years, there is much to do in this new role. Initially the Chief Sales & Marketing Officer position will have a balance of being both strategic and operational, so the ideal candidate will be comfortable in leading from the front to help drive sales operations to the very next level. Through time the position will become more and more strategic.

This particular client works and partners with some of the world’s best known global technology product companies, however an improvement area is that it has become too reliant on its existing client base, therefore it is time to really drive new business sales and processes in both its UK, US and European markets.

Initially the successful candidate will look to build strong relationships with Sales, Marketing and key stakeholders within the business (this will help in knowing what the longer term focus will look like). You will look to really become involved in how the sales & marketing operations & process are currently running i.e., what’s good, what’s not etc which will allow you to devise a suitable strategy to which the business can drive forward to its next level.

There is also a strong appetite to improve sales operations in the US and Western Europe so the ideal candidate will have successful experience of improvement/building sales in a global capacity. There will also be a focus to ensure that its UK sales operations continues to improve so maximising both current client opportunity whilst also focusing on new UK business will be the key to success in this role.

Reporting directly to the CEO the Chief Sales and Marketing Officer will inherit a team of three direct reports (UK Sales Director, European Sales Director & US Sales Director) and these three reports currently have a wider team of 14.

Ideal Candidate
  • Have proven experience of business sales improvements in both the UK and Global Markets
  • Have strong people‑management experience (you will need to be comfortable getting employees buy‑in and driving positive change with them)
  • Be a natural leader (you will be firm and fair and understand that to get the best out of your teams)
  • Push boundaries and have a clear vision of how you are going to achieve success
  • Be a mentor, coach and trainer to get sales operations running to its optimum
  • Have strong commercial acumen (you will be able to see the short, medium and long‑term picture)
  • Be as strong strategically as they are operationally
  • Build true business partnerships (both internally and externally)

In return for your services, the Chief Sales & Marketing Officer will be rewarded with a very attractive base salary £200,000 + bonus (Double OTE) + Benefits + Hybrid Working (2‑3 days a week in the office) and a seat on the board.
