Job summary

Government Recruitment Service is seeking a Head of Physical and Personnel Security for DVSA. This senior role leads protective security across physical and personnel security, vetting and resilience, directing strategy and controls to protect people, assets and information.

You will advise senior leaders, govern on risk and incidents, and drive a professional security culture with strong governance interfaces across DfT and Cabinet Office partners.

Responsibilities

• Act as deputy to the Head of Cyber Security on protective security matters, representing DVSA at senior governance forums and providing expert advice to Executive Team members and Directors on significant security risks and incidents.
• Lead the development and implementation of protective security strategy and controls across physical security, personnel security, vetting and resilience capabilities.
• Oversee the personnel security and vetting capability, ensuring end-to-end processes and proportionate decisions in line with organizational risk appetite.
• Manage relationships with DfT, UKSV, Cabinet Office and Government Security Function to support policy implementation and improvements.
• Provide leadership for physical security, incident management and resilience, ensuring threat-informed, risk-based and proportionate arrangements.
• Oversee resilience and recovery arrangements and foster a security-minded culture across DVSA.
• Provide visible leadership across physical and personnel security disciplines as the senior specialist authority.
