A police organization in Maidstone is searching for a Misconduct Panel Chair to oversee misconduct proceedings under the Police (Conduct) Regulations. Applicants must have operational policing experience as an Assistant Chief Constable and have chaired misconduct hearings. Responsibilities include reviewing case papers, managing complex discussions, and ensuring fair outcomes. The position comes with a 12-month fixed-term contract offering approximately 35 annualized days, emphasizing adherence to legal frameworks and effective communication.
As Misconduct Panel Chair you will oversee misconduct proceedings under the Police (Conduct) Regulations. You will work alongside independent panel members and a Legally Qualified Person to assess evidence, apply relevant legal frameworks and make fair and proportionate decisions. You must have previously held the substantive rank of Assistant Chief Constable (ACC) or higher and left this role within the last 2 years. This appointment is initially assessed as a 12‑month fixed‑term contract for approximately 35 annualised days, with flexibility required to accommodate case requirements.
