Overview

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a confident, experienced and talented Executive Director of Nursing, Midwifery, Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) and Quality to join the Trust Board. This role is critical to the vision for health care that the Trust recently set out in its new five-year strategy and, for the right person, is a huge opportunity with huge potential to make an impact and a difference to colleagues, partners and local people living across Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre.

Providing highly visible professional leadership and direction for colleagues is a critical part of this role. We’re looking for someone who will work closely with medical, operational and corporate colleagues to inspire improvements that make a real difference to our patients and their families. In addition, as a key part of the Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care System, you’ll need to actively build relationships and collaborate openly with colleagues across the Integrated Care Board, the Provider Collaborative and the area’s five providers.

Responsibilities
  • Provide highly visible professional leadership and direction for nursing, midwifery, AHPs and quality across the Trust.
  • Work closely with medical, operational and corporate colleagues to inspire improvements that make a real difference to our patients and their families.
  • Actively build relationships and collaborate with colleagues across the Integrated Care System, including the Integrated Care Board, the Provider Collaborative and the area’s five providers.
  • Contribute to the Trust’s improvement journey and work with the Chief Executive and the Trust Board to support delivery of the strategy.
  • Lead and develop a team of colleagues across hospital and community services to deliver high-quality care.

  • Ability to inspire, lead and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders across clinical, operational and corporate functions.
  • Experience in engaging with regulators and the wider health system to drive improvements and ensure safe, effective care.
