Job description

Harvey Nash is now inviting candidates to apply for the role of Chief Finance Officer. This is a part‑time role at 3 days a week for a 12‑month period.

  • Inside of IR35
  • Periodic meetings onsite in Aberdeen (once every second month)
  • This role would suit someone who has leadership experience within a public sector organisation in Scotland

The role:

Your primary role is to provide strategic leadership necessary to secure ongoing financial sustainability, long‑term stability, and robust governance for our client's organisation.

  • Fully qualified accountant (e.g., CIPFA, ICAS, ACCA, CIMA) with current membership of a recognised professional body
  • Demonstrable success in delivering financial recovery, efficiency programmes, or major financial change initiatives
  • Skilled in translating financial plans into delivery, monitoring impactینیand maintaining rigorous oversight
  • Strong influencing, collaboration, and communication skills, with confidence in advising senior leaders and board members
  • Strategic thinker with a practical delivery focus and strong personal credibility
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with senior leaders, board members and budget holders on financial performance
