Job summary

Finatal is partnering with a leading mid-market private markets investment firm to appoint a Chief Financial Officer. The CFO will lead all aspects of fund and management company finance, working closely with the investment team, investors, Board, and external advisers to ensure best-in-class financial management and governance.

Reporting to the Managing Partners, this role focuses on strategic planning, fundraising support, and responsible growth across private equity and private credit

Qualifications

• Significant senior finance leadership experience within private equity, private credit, or alternative asset management.
• Strong knowledge of fund accounting, investor reporting, treasury, tax governance and controls.
• Experience with institutional investors, fund administrators, auditors and external advisers.
• Track record supporting fundraising and scaling finance functions in a growing investment business.
• Commercial mindset with leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of fund finance and management company accounting across private equity and private credit strategies.
• Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, and cash management.
• Manage fund accounting, capital calls, distributions, carried interest, management fees, valuations, and investor reporting.
• Ensure robust financial controls, regulatory compliance, and tax governance across the business.
• Manage relationships with fund administrators, auditors, tax advisers, lenders, and banking partners.
• Support fundraising, investor due diligence, and the launch of new investment vehicles.
• Partner with the Managing Partners on strategic planning, financial performance, and business growth initiatives.
• Lead and develop the finance function, driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Managing both private equity and private credit strategies, the firm is entering an exciting phase of growth and is seeking a commercially minded finance leader to oversee the finance function and support the continued evolution of the business.

Reporting directly to the Managing Partners, the CFO will lead all aspects of fund and management company finance, partnering closely with the investment team, investors, Board, and external advisers to ensure best-in-class financial management, governance, and operational excellence.
