A leading financial services provider is seeking a Chief Financial Officer / Financial Director to provide high-level CFO services to small and medium-sized enterprises in the UK. This part-time, self-employed position allows for flexibility and autonomy, focusing on building genuine relationships with clients and delivering strategic financial advice. The ideal candidate will be a proactive member of a chartered accounting institute with extensive CFO experience.
Location: Recruiting within the B49 – B50, B80 – B99 and CV postcodes, across Alcester, Studley, Birmingham and Coventry
Salary: £750 per day
Vacancy Type: Contract, Part Time
If you’re a top quality Chief Financial Officer / Finance Director frustrated with the confines of a normal corporate life and looking for something different, or if you’re an independent CFO who has already left the corporate world, or a working or returning CFO parent who wants more flexibility and work‑life balance, this role might be for you.
You will be responsible for providing CFO services to ambitious £2‑50M private businesses, helping owners to climb their Everest.
They’re not looking for people who just want a job. You’ll help clients reach those summits, be a self‑starter with ambition, energy, and a ‘can‑do’ attitude, and have a passion for helping business owners, entrepreneurs, CEOs or MDs.
You will thrive on the challenge and autonomy of growing your own portfolio of clients, supported by an incredible network of CFOs based around the world. They have big dreams, and they expect you to share them.
To qualify, you must be a member of one of the UK’s major chartered accounting institutes and have real‑life experience as a CFO/FD – once, twice, or several times. You should have strong experience and understanding of commercial finance, business strategy, and a track record of success, as well as a natural ability to build genuine long‑lasting relationships with clients. Part CFO, part advisor, part strategist, part friend – that’s your special sauce.
The role is self‑employed, operating within a defined model that combines the benefits of being part of a team with the autonomy and freedom to deliver outcomes for clients. Rather than being fed fish, you’ll learn to catch them and build a portfolio career that can be a game‑changer for clients and yourself. You’ll work for multiple clients, enjoying the flexibility this way of working provides.
They are a global, part‑time CFO/FD service provider to mid‑size businesses, working across 5 continents with a team of former CEOs, executives, CFOs, FDs, and successful business owners. They aim to change the game for mid‑tier businesses by offering affordable, high‑quality financial expertise.
They define and deliver the numbers that really matter – helping clients identify the metrics that make a difference to their business and their lives, and delivering them. Whether that’s growth, acquisition, consolidation, or setting clients up for the lifestyle they’ve always wanted.
If you are a suitable candidate and would like to work for The CFO Centre, please do not hesitate to apply.
