The Welsh Government is establishing The Disused Tips Authority for Wales, an Arm’s Length Body due to become operational on 1 April 2027. The Authority will deliver a proactive management regime for disused coal and non-coal tips, protecting human welfare, safeguarding communities, and ensuring the resilience of critical infrastructure.

We are seeking an experienced and influential leader to serve as the Authority’s inaugural Chief Executive Officer. This is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of a new Welsh Government arm’s length body. You will play a key leadership role in the establishment of the Authority in relation to the assessment, registration, monitoring and management of disused tips. The Authority will play a pivotal role in providing a structured approach to managing the safety of the disused tips across Wales.
