A leading hotel management company is seeking a proactive Chief Engineer for its new hotel in Manchester. The ideal candidate will lead a maintenance team, ensure high standards of upkeep, and support hotel operations from pre-opening through daily management. Chief Engineer – The Medlock, a Radisson Blu Hotel
An extraordinary opportunity for a proactive, detail focused Chief Engineer to maintain all property systems, champion health and safety and the upkeep of a fantastic hotel opening at the heart of Manchester’s Etihad Campus, home to Manchester City Football Club.
This brand-new 401-key hotel is set to be a game‑changer in hospitality, seamlessly integrating with one of the most prestigious entertainment and sporting destinations globally.
The next evolution of the Etihad Campus will see it become a thriving sports and entertainment district, featuring state‑of‑the‑art training facilities, a world class 60,000 seater stadium, and vibrant leisure spaces including the Co‑op Live arena. It will become a world‑class hub for elite sport, music, and entertainment, attracting visitors from around the world.
The new hotel will be at the centre of this dynamic environment, providing an exceptional place for guests, teams, and fans to stay and experience everything the campus has to offer.
You’ll be the leader of the Hotel Maintenance Team, supporting the General Manager to create an exceptional experience for the guest and our team members, from external surroundings, general public areas to individual guest bedrooms.
You’ll balance planned project work, audit performance and reactive tasks to steer the maintenance team to create an exceptional hotel environment.
We are open 7 days a week 365 days a year and need maintenance coverage that matches this. Our maintenance team works a range of shifts and days – this means great flexibility if required. Shift patterns and contracted hours can all be discussed at interview.

Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll also lead and develop your own maintenance team – with support from central and brand partners. You’ll help shape our launch, embed a performance‑driven culture, and ensure The Medlock Hotel hits the ground running.
