The Chief Engineer at Axiom Hospitality will oversee the hotel's engineering function, leading a team to maintain building systems, energy conservation, and safety compliance. You will drive capital projects and ensure guest experience remains seamless.

Based at London ExCeL area, the role requires an engineering qualification and proven leadership in a luxury hotel environment, with flexibility for emergencies outside normal hours. Join a growing team with development opportunities.

Qualificações

• Extensive proven experience as a Chief Engineer or Engineering Manager within a large, full-service or luxury hotel environment.
• Relevant engineering qualification (e.g. HNC/HND, degree or equivalent) in a building services, electrical or mechanical discipline.
• Expert knowledge of statutory compliance, fire safety, health and safety and building regulations.
• Strong track record of managing engineering budgets, capital projects and contractor relationships.
• Proven experience leading and developing a large engineering team.
• Strong understanding of sustainability and energy management principles.

We are currently recruiting for a Chief Engineer to join our Truly Talented team.

As a Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for the upkeep, maintenance, and management of all areas of the hotel, including energy conservation. You will use your leadership skills to inspire your team and provide a seamless guest experience every time.

Your role

The Chief Engineer holds overall responsibility for the hotel's engineering function, including all building systems, plant, life safety equipment and capital infrastructure. The role provides strategic and technical leadership across the engineering team, ensuring the property operates safely, efficiently and sustainably while supporting the hotel's wider commercial and guest experience goals.

The core skills and experience required to succeed:

• Extensive proven experience as a Chief Engineer or Engineering Manager within a large, full-service or luxury hotel environment
• Relevant engineering qualification (e.g. HNC/HND, degree or equivalent) in a building services, electrical or mechanical discipline
• Expert knowledge of statutory compliance, fire safety, health and safety and building regulations
• Strong track record of managing engineering budgets, capital projects and contractor relationships
• Proven experience leading and developing a large engineering team
• Strong understanding of sustainability and energy management principles
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience representing a business at a senior level
• Flexible to respond to emergencies outside of normal working hours as required
