Job summary

Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a Consultant Radiologist with a specialist interest in Chest Imaging to support Lung Cancer Screening across the Princess Royal Hospital and Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. The post involves flexible group job planning and on‑call duties to suit changing workloads.

Lung biopsy skills are required, and there is potential to accommodate a second clinical interest. Opportunities exist to develop MDTs and future roles within the chest imaging service.

Responsibilities

• . Share in the general imaging workload and collaborate with colleagues to support tumour‑specific and other sub‑specialty reporting, using PACS.
• . Contribute to the general work of the department including reporting of general radiographic examinations across main sites and community hospitals.
• . Maintain a general Radiology practice while contributing to sub‑specialty areas as per departmental needs.
• . Work flexibly according to changes in work patterns and participate in non‑resident on‑call and resident evening/weekend on‑calls.
• . Address GP and clinician queries and vetting as core to the role.
• . Involve in organisation and administration of the Radiology Department and teaching of other clinical staff including clinico‑radiological meetings.
• . Involve in training of junior Radiology staff.
