Job description

Job summary

Come and make a real difference by supporting patients receiving Chemotherapy within the Dyson Cancer Centre at the RUH.

We are looking for a kind, compassionate and motivated nurse to join our passionate, highly skilled multi-professional team. This role is ideal for someone with a genuine interest in supporting patients undergoing systemic anti-cancer treatment (SACT).

You will be the first point of contact for patients calling the Emergency SACT Hotline with concerns about symptoms or side effects from their ongoing treatment.

You will receive a tailored induction programme, including support to complete UKONS triage tool training, visits to adjacent areas within the department, and will be supported by the clinical teams in both Haematology and Acute Oncology.

Please note that this role is currently going through a job-matching process. We anticipate B6 will be approved with minimal changes to the included JD/PS. Confirmation will be given before an offer of employment is made.

Main duties of the job

As a team, we strive to be compassionate, supportive, personal and open, with patient and family experience at the heart of everything we do. Alongside strong clinical knowledge and skills, we are looking for someone who understands the unique needs of people undergoing cancer treatment and who can provide sensitive, holistic support to both patients and their families throughout their treatment journey. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring that every patient receives high-quality, person-centred care that positively shapes their cancer experience.

We warmly encourage informal visits.

To be considered for this position, you must hold a valid UK NMC registration.
