If you are looking to work in a fast‑paced, innovative, nurse‑led environment, then this is a fantastic opportunity for you.

Our East Kent Chemotherapy Units offer in‑house training with a mix of Nurse Educators, mentors and online training via Google Classroom, followed by a fully funded, accredited university course when you are ready. Upon completion, you will have the opportunity to progress into a chemotherapy sister role (Band 6) and become part of our senior team, helping guide newer nurses.

Posts offer:
  • The opportunity to develop and maintain a professional portfolio
  • The opportunity to help lead the nursing service across the SACT unit to ensure a unified approach to care and consistent standards of care
  • The opportunity to work in the highly specialised area of cancer services
  • The ability to manage empathetically emotional issues relating to stages in the patient’s journey
  • The opportunity to be part of a team that works collaboratively with all care groups to develop a service for the care and management of patients with cancer
  • To gain the confidence to actively support Divisional initiatives and issues. The post holder is expected to carry out all relevant forms of care in which they are competent, without direct supervision, and may be required to supervise and support the training of both qualified and unqualified members of staff—just some of the reasons that make this a ‘great place to work’

We are one of the largest hospital trusts in England, with five hospitals and community clinics serving a local population of around 800,000 people. Our vision is "great healthcare from great people". Everything we do is guided by our values: "People feel cared for, safe, respected and confident that we are making a difference". We have a new way of working at East Kent Hospitals, called "We care"—empowering frontline staff to lead improvements day‑to‑day. We are looking for compassionate people to be part of our improvement journey for the patients, families and carers we care for every day.
