Job summary

A leading analytical service provider in Chipping Campden is looking for a candidate to join their Food Composition Team, carrying out food analysis using practical wet chemistry techniques. This role requires no prior science experience, as comprehensive training will be provided. You will work Monday to Friday from 8.45 am to 5.15 pm, and benefit from a generous holiday scheme, a matching pension contribution of up to 10%, and a focus on work-life balance with early finishes on Fridays.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out analysis of foodstuffs and materials according to client instructions.
  • Perform administrative tasks relating to analytical work.
  • Produce accurate laboratory records and reports.
  • Maintain Quality standards according to Campden BRI.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and monitor lab equipment.

Analytical Services

We offer commercial analytical lab chemistry testing for food and drink, including: nutritional and health, microscopy, biochemistry, allergens, chromatography, packaging, cereals and ingredients, and wines and spirits

Food Composition Team

Our Food Composition Team use practical wet chemistry techniques to test the nutritional value of food. If you're in a retail or hospitality role, looking to move into a Monday to Friday role- look no further! We work Monday- Friday 8.45am- 5.15pm (4.30pm finish on a Friday). We will train you fully and no previous science experience is required.

Position
  • Carry out analysis of foodstuffs and materials relating to the food industry according to client instructions, within agreed timescales.
  • Carry out administrative tasks relating to analytical work e.g., sample receipt and booking in of samples into LabWARE LIMS
  • Produce accurate laboratory record, calculate results, collate data for inclusion in scientific reports and produce reports for bespoke and routine analysis
  • Ensure all aspects of Quality are managed according to Campden BRI standards, including maintaining QC records for global migration tests.
  • Calibration, maintenance and daily monitoring of lab equipment’s e.g., balances, pipettes
Requirements

  • Comfortable carrying out manual handling tasks
  • We’re located in a rural area without regular public transport, so we recommend that applicants consider how they’ll travel to and from work — whether by personal vehicle, carpool, or other arrangements
