Job summary

Brighton Secondary School is seeking a committed Chemistry Teacher to join its Science Department. You will teach Chemistry across KS3 and KS4, including GCSE, with a mix of theory and practical lessons.

You will plan lessons to build understanding of chemical principles, vocabulary and investigation skills, and help pupils prepare for exams. Demonstrations and collaboration within the department support a well-sequenced curriculum.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Chemistry degree and QTS or recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching Science at secondary level with KS3 and KS4.
• Strong Chemistry subject knowledge and ability to teach KS3/KS4 Chemistry.
• Strong classroom management and planning/assessment skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and student development.

Responsibilities

• Teach KS3 Science and KS4 Chemistry, including GCSE.
• Plan lessons that develop chemical principles, vocabulary and investigations.
• Deliver practical demonstrations and science activities.
• Collaborate with Science Department to ensure a coherent curriculum.
• Prepare students for GCSE examinations.
