Qualifications

  • A valid driving licence and ability to drive a 3.5t van.

  • Good communication skills and the ability to build rapport with customers.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Collect wastes from customer sites and ensure safe collection.
  • List, package and label wastes; assess drums and their contents at customer premises.
  • Pump, decant and re-drum rusty or leaking containers.
  • Assess new enquiries and provide technical knowledge to customers and company employees.
  • Assist at a transfer station when needed.
  • Supervise dangerous loads and sample wastes.
  • Maintain adequate stock levels of routine supplies.
  • Accurately complete all documentation and quickly process paperwork to meet customer expectations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management (site cover at Newcastle Waste Management Centre).
Qualifications
  • Science‑based degree (HND or equivalent) ideally in Chemistry.
  • Knowledge and/or experience of hazardous waste.
  • Understanding of COSHH and health and safety.
  • Valid driving licence and ability to drive a 3.5t van.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build rapport with customers.
