Job summary

The Department of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford invites applications for an Associate Professor of Engineering Science (Chemical Engineering) to start 1 September 2027 or soon after. The successful candidate will work in Kidlington (OX5 1PF) and will receive a Tutorial Fellowship at New College under the Job Description. The salary scale runs £57,986 to £77,366 p.a.

with a housing allowance of £12,887 p.a. The appointment aims to strengthen chemical engineering research.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Chemical Engineering or a cognate discipline.
• Proven research track record with peer‑reviewed publications.
• Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses.

Responsibilities

• Conduct original research in Chemical Engineering and its applications.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses and supervise design and project work.
• Provide guidance on academic progress and wellbeing to students and participate in department governance.
